All hustle or all woo — and then there's you

Hi Reader,

For years I tried to fix myself.

I was unhappy in my job and relationship. All I ever really wanted was to hop on a plane and travel somewhere I'd never been. And aside from pockets of satisfaction (mainly, helping my colleagues in Paraguay get the funding they needed for their fieldwork) I had no idea what I was meant to be doing.

I showed up every day, but inside I knew I'd rather have been anywhere else. My colleagues seemed genuinely happy. They loved their work, and though they agreed our organization had its flaws, they couldn't relate to my growing dissatisfaction.

I was convinced something was wrong with me.

I had become the person who complained all the time, who never felt satisfied, who always wished things were different. Slowly but surely, I was becoming the toxic one.

The truth was, despite working for one of the best organizations in the world, I wasn't happy. And it was killing me.

I knew how good I had it. I knew people would have killed for my job. On paper, especially in the conservation world, there was no better place to be. And yet my unhappiness kept growing.

Every time I thought about leaving, the same thought would pour in: "but what will you do instead?"

I felt stuck.

It would take a few years still before I finally understood: even when we get the things we think we want, it doesn't mean we'll feel happy. Happiness, as it turns out, is an inside job.

So is purpose.

As long as I was doing work that didn't light me up, even if it looked perfect from the outside, the more disconnected from myself I felt. Out of place. Restless. Eager to blame leadership for my unhappiness, because I wasn't ready to admit I was simply in the wrong place.

So I quit. And the moment I stepped onto an entrepreneurial path, the world seemed to open up. My spiritual pathway unfolded on exactly the same timeline, and while that wasn't why I started, there is no coincidence in the timing.

Building a business forces you to confront every fear, every limiting belief, every ego-driven motive you have. You can't hide from yourself when you're responsible for your own survival and success. It demands surrender, trust, and resilience. Without meaning to, most founders stumble right through a spiritual portal they never even knew existed.

The moment you step out of your old system and structure, you create space for the light to finally get in.

I went on a search to find people like me - those that were building a business and also doing the deeper spiritual work, but all I could find were people on either extreme - either all hustle or all woo. It felt like no one else got what I was going through.

Most coaches want to talk to you about positioning and visibility. Most healers want you to slow down and go within. But if you're like me, you're desperate for both. The intentionality and depth of a spiritual process, and the excitement of a business that grows through your sense of purpose.

You don't want to choose between business growth and spiritual growth.

And you don't have to.

Starting a business IS a spiritual act. The awakening is part of the process. It is the strategy. But almost no one is talking about this, which means you haven't been able to find the right kind of support to help you move through it.

That is exactly why I'm hosting Reclaim Your Inner Authority.

Next Tuesday, May 12th at 5PM London Time (12PM New York), I'm holding space for a shamanic journey experience. It's a guided, meditative session where you get to finally disconnect from the noise and hear yourself again. If you've been running on empty and craving something that feeds both your soul and your business, this is for you.

You can sign up HERE.

Always rooting for you,

Amanda

P.S. Can't make the journey but find yourself on that exact path — trying to balance business growth with spiritual awakening? Hit reply and tell me what you're going through. I'd love to find a time to chat.
