Beyond small talk: Creating real connection this holiday season with Monika Jiang

Dear Reader,

I'm excited to share a timely and deeply resonant episode of Don't Step on the Bluebells with you today. My conversation with community builder Monika Jiang explores what true connection means in our increasingly disconnected world, and how we can transform loneliness into what she calls "oneliness" - a return to our natural state of interconnection.

As we move through the holiday season, a time when many of us experience both connection and disconnection deeply, Monika offers a fresh perspective on how we can create more meaningful relationships. If you've ever:

  • Felt lonely even when surrounded by people
  • Struggled to create deeper connections beyond small talk
  • Found yourself exhausted by superficial social interactions
  • Wondered how to build authentic community in modern life ...this episode will offer you valuable insights and a new way of thinking about connection.

One of my favorite moments was when Monika shared, "Loneliness is almost a call that comes from inside of us that tells us, 'Hey, we're missing something.'" This perspective transforms loneliness from something we fear into an invitation to connect more deeply with ourselves and others.

You'll discover:

  • The historical difference between loneliness and "oneliness"
  • Why being socially connected isn't the opposite of loneliness
  • How to create spaces for authentic connection
  • The distinction between aloneness and loneliness
  • Why healing always happens in community

P.P.S. As we explore themes of connection and community, I'm curious: are you a woman or female-identifying healer looking to build deeper connections with others in your field? I'm creating a new resource to support women in healing and would love to get your input in this short survey. Together, we can create the kind of meaningful connections Monika talks about in this episode! Thanks so much for your time and support!

Hi Reader, 2 weeks ago I went back to school. Only it wasn’t the kind where you sit at a desk and listen to lectures. No, this school was different, indeed. I was enrolled in Psychic School. The kind where you learn how to connect to your own soul and tap into the souls of those all around you. Now I’ve done this kind of training before – having studied Psychic Mediumship at the College of Psychic Studies. I learned how to sit in meditation and tap into altered states of consciousness on...

Hi Reader, We all have dreams for the future. I know I certainly do. And every time I think about what I want to create, that dream grows. It becomes more vivid, more tangible in my mind - even while it often feels so far away. The future comes closer when we allow ourselves to dream. In the past, I would spend time thinking about a BIG BOLD BRIGHT future. I’d have idea upon idea of what I wanted, and I would yearn for it like nothing I can easily describe. There was a huge feeling of...
