Hi Reader, I recently locked myself away for four days to write. Before that, I was on Instagram and LinkedIn every day. Answering everyone I love. Giving every bit of my attention away, with nothing left for the thing I really wanted to do. The first morning, I did everything but write. I needed a coffee. Then a walk. Then I realized I didnāt have a pen, so I needed a pen. And then a new notebook. And then I sat down. And I wrote for hours. Let me back up. A year ago, Iād have told you I wanted to write a book. I just had no clue how to start, and if Iām honest, I wasnāt sure I believed I could. So I read books about writing. I listened to podcasts. I looked up how my favorite authors got started. It took until January for me to sit down and write an outline. Since then, itās been weeks of flow followed by weeks where I couldnāt bear to sit down at my computer. And every time I did, the same questions were waiting. Who am I to write this? Is it good enough? Am I good enough? Hereās what those four days taught me. Nobody could have talked me into believing in myself. If youād called to tell me you believed in me, that I was going to do this, I wouldnāt have believed you. The belief only came because I put myself in the chair and did the work. Now I know Iām going to finish this book. This weekās episode is the whole story. The resistance. The months of circling. Why anything worth creating asks you to become someone new. And why slow isnāt the same as stuck. š§ LISTEN HEREā Hit reply and tell me whatās the creation living in your heart that you havenāt brought into the world yet? I read every reply. With love, P.S. If someone you know has been waiting to feel ready to do what theyāve been dreaming of, send them this one.
